No Birthday Party This Year...

My birthday is on the 11th of January, but I think I won't be having my usual birthday party this year. You see, my wife wants to throw me (figuratively) a BBQ party like she did last year and invite all my friends and some foes, but no ex's (damn). Well, maybe I am being too philosophical for my own good, but I will turn 36. At this advance age, death can come for me at any moment; and I just know I won't know what my friends would do when I die. So I suggested along with the birthday party, I want a preview of my memorial service; sort of like a rehearsal if you will. Hey, seriously now, I know I won't be attending it "in person", so I might as well get a good look at what might happen and make sure it will go smoothly and as close to the way I wanted it happen as possible. After all, it is MY memorial service! Oh well, my wife doesn't see this matter the same way I do... so chances are I won't have my party this year...

Life Changing Decision...

Life Changing Decision...

I need some advice on what could be a life changing decision.

I've suspected for some time now that my girlfriend has been having an affair. The usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. She started going out 'with the girls' a lot recently although when I ask which girls it is always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them". I always look out for her taxi coming home but she always walks down the drive although I can hear a car setting off. As if she has got out of the car round the corner. Why? Is it not a taxi? I once picked her mobile up just to see what time it was and she went beserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my g/f. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my car which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of. It was whilst crouched behind my car that I noticed rust around my rear wheel arch.

Should I take it into a body repair shop or should I buy some stuff from the local auto shop and try to repair it myself?

HKG > London > Hannover

I will be on a business trip to London on the 13th thru 15th, then onto Hannover between 15th and 19th. I am wondering if any DAers will be in those areas? I would love to have a guide to show me around when I am in town. Please note me. Cheers. ;)

Trip to Vancouver and a lucky weekend

Mood: Tired Excited
Listening to: Octavarium

I was on a semi-business related trip to Vancouver, BC, Canada for a week earlier this month, and the trip was tiring but pretty interesting overall. Besides getting to see some of my friends there, I was most excited about a chance to take a ton of pictures (over 800 in all) and getting together with another fellow DA-er Coffeeinsomnia [link] She showed me around some of the tourist attractions in town and I really appreciated her hospitality, thanks! Hopefully I will find the energy and time to post more pictures from my trip soon.

On the other hand, I think I lucked out this past weekend in finding and buying this mint condition used Canon 70-200mm L f/2.8 lens [link] with a 2x Extender [link] for CHEAP!!! I am talking about USD$880 kind of cheap!!! The guy who sold me the set told me he hasn't really have a chance to use that lens for various reasons, and he wanted to switch over to all Nikon equipment so badly that, he simply just wanted to unload them... long story short, he offered me those two items for that price, and I think that's an offer I simply can't refuse... ;) I hope to take some pictures with that lens and share them with you soon enough...

I Salute You!

I Salute You!

Mood: Enthusiastic Excited

I guess all good things must end, but a new journey begins when the old one comes to an end... I finally bought the new Canon 30D yesterday and now I can officially retire my trusty Canon 300D (aka the Digital Rebel).

From the mountain tops in Arizona, to the busy streets in LA; across the Pacific to the far far away land of Hong Kong; then to places like these unknown poor villages in China and the tsunami hit beaches in Thailand on to traditional cities like Kyoto, Japan and finally back here in Hong Kong again... my trusty 300D has done well and far beyond any of my wildest expectations!!! All I can say is, I salute you little buddy. I think it's time for me to start a new and hopefully even more exciting journey with the new Canon 30D. Can't wait to start shooting things with the new camera and share everything with those who watch me out there (all three of you)
